About
When I first started writing Aplscruf’s Music Blog, my goal was to post my concert journals online and share with anyone who might be interested in reading about the joys of live music. I wanted to motivate the reader to go out and see a live show and experience a similar positive reaction.
Now, in 2021, I want to branch out a bit. Over the last five years, I haven’t written many music blogs. Life happened. Death happened. COVID-19 happened. During the lockdown, I found I had other interests besides live music including poetry, literature, nature, and my son’s beautiful abstract artwork. I started thinking about a new direction for this blog.
What you’ll find here is a growing collection of music, poetry, art, book recommendations, essays, and musings.
Enjoy!

Nice work! It was great to see you guys and I’m looking forward to keeping up with your blog! Take care!

I read your blog regarding your obstructed seat at Joe Cocker in row 10, stage left. What were your seat numbers?
Comment by Jason | March 3, 2011 |
I’ll check that out. I saved them. I’m pretty sure we were a few seats in from the aisle on left side. There was a big curtain on the left side of the stage where they had equipment. We couldn’t see Benmont at all, except for part of his piano. For $300, we should have at least been able to see the whole stage!

I couldn’t find tickets, but husband said we were in section C, probably seats 37-38 or something, closer to the left aisle than to the middle.

I love your blog, I too am addicted to live music and love to write about it. We definitely have something in common as I am also interested in getting folks off the couch and into the clubs. I will be looking forward to your next post. I am taking the summer off but you can read my past posts here: http://liveseattlemusicintheclubs.blogspot.com/

Thanks, Thom! I’ll check out your posts, too. Hoping to see The Swearengens at Blue Moon next, but we’ll see. It’s tough getting out during the week.

Thanks for stopping by foodforfun last week for a (virtual) taste of fannie cranium’s mint chocolate cookies 🙂 Was glad to have you over and appreciate your visit.

Thanks for following The Immortal Jukebox. I hope you have found lots to entertain you and perhaps made some discoveries. If you haven’t visited for some time check it out again! Good luck with your blog. Regards Thom.

Hi! I see that you’ve been seeing some music in Alabama, and I’m an Alabama-based songwriter. I have a weekly gig in Mobile, and I play in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Talladega, Montgomery, etc. Would love to see you sometime! http://www.stuartmcnair.com

Thanks, Stuart! Sorry I’m so late to the party. Getting back into blogging again soon. I’ll bet you know Mr. Will Kimbrough!
